With election campaigning entering its third week, Justin Trudeau has lost the Liberal Party all of their pre-election polling lead.
On average, the Liberals have seen their 5 to 14 point advantage evaporate while Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives have taken a 1 to 9 point lead.
And the reason is clear: a recent poll by Ipsos shows that 58% “agree the country should not be holding an election right now.”

Political commentator, Ali Taghva, states the compounding reasons for the public resenting Trudeau:
“Canada has been fortunate with its high vaccination rates, but the COVID variant threatens to undo the gains we’ve made,” he said. “An unnecessary election distracts the country from the job of recovery and puts more people at risk through rallies and door-knocking. After so much economic, physical, and mental loss, Canadians naturally resent that Trudeau is jeopardizing their return to normal.”
Almost all elections held during the COVID-19 pandemic have benefitted the governing party. However, it hasn’t worked out that way for Trudeau. Many voters see the election call as selfish and poorly timed, including voters the Liberals have come to rely upon.
According to a recent article published by The Hill Times, one Liberal MP said, “it’s a lot worse than it was in 2019… [Canadians] just say ‘we’re sick and tired of [Prime Minister Justin Trudeau],’ and I really, truly feel bad for the leader. What’s really shocking to me is how much the leader has lost popularity in the last few years.”
It may be shocking to the Liberal MP quoted above, but it’s not to us.
The legacy of Trudeau has been surrounded by woke talking-points and policies that do nothing to benefit the quality of life for Canadians. From disastrous legislation surrounding our energy industry, to promoting constitutionally destructive policies such as vaccine passports, Trudeau has (finally) fallen out of favour with Canadians, and he deserves nothing more than an absolute travesty when the public head to the polls on September 20th.
Good looks and nice hair can only get you so far in politics, and Trudeau is learning the hard-way just how easily Canadians can see straight through his bullsh*t after so many years.
