GoFundMe Confiscate Truckers’ Convoy Funds

In an unethical and hypocritical stunt, California-based GoFundMe have suspended all donations to the Truckers’ Freedom Convoy protests.

The update we issued earlier enabled all donors to get a refund and outlined a plan to distribute remaining funds to verified charities selected by the Freedom Convoy organizers. However, due to donor feedback, we are simplifying the process and automatically refunding donations.

Donations had surpassed $10 million, but as of this afternoon, GoFundMe issued a statement on the Truckers’ Convoy page stating that donations would no longer be accepted and the page would be shut down.

“Organizers provided a clear distribution plan for the initial $1M that was released earlier this week and confirmed funds would be used only for participants who traveled to Ottawa to participate in a peaceful protest,” the statement said. “Given how this situation has evolved, no further funds will be directly distributed to the Freedom Convoy organizers — we will work with organizers to send all remaining funds to credible and established charities chosen by the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers and verified by GoFundMe.”

Many are speculating that the Liberal government connected with the fundraising platform and requested that all funding be revoked. Regardless, it is unethical and hypocritical for GoFundMe to suspend these donations to the Truckers. While the Truckers have been peacefully protesting in Ottawa, GoFundMe had no issue with accepting monies on behalf of Black Lives Matter in 2020 as they burned down cities and destroyed billions of dollars worth of property across the USA.

At Elect Conservatives, we feel this injustice cannot stand – it’s time to fight back.

For those who donated to the Truckers Convoy for Freedom, you can request a refund of your money by clicking here. All you need to do is type in the email address from which you donated and click “submit”.

This action will serve three purposes. The first is that for every refund requested, GoFundMe will have to pay a transfer charge, so this will impact their profits. Secondly, your money can be returned to your bank account and re-donated to the Truckers when a more suitable and independent donation platform is announced (Bitcoin?). And third, requesting a refund will prevent GoFundMe donating your money to left-wing charities of their choosing (Black Lives Matter, Greenpeace, etc).

Don’t let them get away with it. Submit your refund request now!

We should not be surprised that the left-wing government of Canada and Big Tech are working together, but its only because they fear the messaging and peaceful uprising that is happening across our country and the world against medical tyranny. Keep on trucking, patriots!
